Makenzie Perkins, M.S., is the Counseling and Threat Assessment Supervisor for Collierville Schools in Tennessee, where she oversees school counseling, threat assessment, and crisis response initiatives. Prior to this role, she served as the Prevention Counselor at Collierville High School, where she assisted students and staff in navigating complex mental health issues and crises at the state's largest high school. Having personally experienced loss and grief through the death of her sister during high school, Makenzie’s journey has profoundly influenced her, inspiring her dedication to this field. She is a National Certified Counselor, holding both a Master of Science and a Clinical Mental Health Specialist degree from the University of Memphis. Additionally, she is a Certified Master Trainer in Behavioral Threat Assessment through the Department of Homeland Security. Makenzie is committed to empowering professionals with vital skills in grief support, threat assessment, crisis management, and addressing the evolving mental health needs of today’s youth.
In her "spare" time, you can usually find Makenzie chasing after her two energetic boys with her husband, traveling, playing tennis, cheering on UGA football (GoDawgs!), or binge-watching the latest true crime series.
